Sheila Blake
Sheila Blake (Member at large) was born and grew up in Scotland, and received a BSc from St. Andrew’s University in 1952. She married a fellow Scot and St. Andrian, lived in many parts of Canada and settled in Victoria in 1966. She has taught dance to hundreds of children and was asked in 1973 to head up the Festival’s then (unified) “Dance” Section. She continued heading up the Ethnic Dance Section until 2006 when she found a successor. Sheila is a former President and is an Honorary Life Member of the GVPAF as well as Section Head for Ethnic Instrumental Music and Song.
