Ethnic Performance
Performance Dates
Ethnic Dance and Performance adjudicated sessions will be held at Spectrum Community School Auditorium on Monday afternoon and Tuesday evenings, April 30 and May 1, 2012, from 4:30 pm on Monday and from 6:30 pm on Tuesday.
The Ethnic Honours concert will be held at Spectrum Community School Auditorium on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at 6:30 pm.
A special concert of Ethnic Instrumental Music and Song will be staged on Wednesday evening, April 11, at 7:00 pm at the Royal Oak Berwick in the theatre. Performers of ethnic instruments or songs are warmly invited to contact Sheila Blake at 250-721-0466. The address of the Royal Oak Berwick is 4680 Elk Lake Drive, Victoria, 250-386-4680.
Syllabus
The Syllabus contains rules and procedures, registration fees and deadlines, a list of available classes and information pertaining to performance in each of the Festival's Sections.
The entire 2012 Syllabus is available in pdf format above at the "Register" tab under "Syllabus".
Regulations that apply to the entire Festival appear at the front, followed by specific information for performers in each Section.
The printed 100-page Syllabus for the 2012 Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival is published in early November. To see the list of locations where the Syllabus is on sale ($5), go to "Where to buy the Syllabus" under "Register".
Ethnic Dance and Performance Classes
All performance information for registrants about each class (including age limits, performance time limits, fees, and more) can be found above in the list of Sections at "Classes" in the "Register" tab.
Registration
Registration dates for Ethnic Dance and Performance are from November 14, 2011 through 4:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.
The Ethnic Performance registration form for use by Ethnic performers can be downloaded at the "Register" tab above, and delivered with payment in person to the Festival office (if before February 3, 2012) at 210 - 932 Balmoral Road, and if on or after February 3, to the Festival office's new location at 21-21 Dallas Road, on the second floor overlooking Fisherman's Wharf, or mailed to the P.O. Box number address given here. Mailed registrations must be postmarked no later than February 14, 2012.
Payment can be made only with cash or cheque.
